Abstract

|
Attempts were made to investigate the sterol components of Xerocomus badius Fr. Ku¨hner ex Gilbert which grows wildly in Korea. Its carpophores were collected in Gyeong-Gi Province and extracted with chloroform and methanol. Two compounds were isolated from the extract and one of these compounds was identified as ergosterol by TLC, GLC and chemical tests.
